Tennessee Gay Clubs and Resources. Location: The Conterminous United States. There are bars in Knoxville, support groups and churches that are very accepting. I have no idea about Townsend. It is very small. I would suggest calling one of the bars and asking. The Rainbow Club seems to be very popular. It can be a long drive to Knoxville.
I would say try the Unitarian Churches first.

As has been said, I can't think of a gay friendly oranization or church in Townsend or all of Blount County. You could probably live in Laurel Valley subdivision and no one would bother you, but other parts not so much. Unfortunately, if you're gay you have two options to live comfortable. One is living in an urban setting.
